Neopets Lab Ray
Have you ever smelt the Lab Ray after it has blasted you? Guess not, but your neopets might have. First to get the lab ray to must collect nine pieces of the lab map. It's a tough challenge. But some people are brave enough to take the challenge.
The Lab Ray is a humongous! Probably later sloth will blast it at every neopet in the ENTIRE WORLD OF NEOPIA, but sloth is taking a vacation so we’re lucky for now. The Lab Ray turns your neopet into a variety of colors, and a whole bunch of different neopets, but sadly it won’t turn your pet royal, Usuki, Plushie, Baby, and Pirate. It may save you money or might not, for example you might have wanted an Island Quiggle and days later it turned into an Island Quiggle, guess what you saved about 1.5 million neopoints! It saves you the cost of the paintbrushes. If you hear a rumor about that different times of the day, the lab ray will do better. Is this true? No. It is certainly not true. Everything with the lab ray is very random. There is another rumor that some pets get better results? Is this true? No, same things as above, the Lab Ray is very random. Some people say there is a secret place in the lab where you can click and you get this special thing, is this true? No, it is very not true, even if you tried it you would get no luck. Even if it was there it wouldn’t be much, to be honest, because you already got great rewards from finding the Lab Ray.
So first off do you think the Lab Ray is worth it’s cost? You can use it for an entire lifetime! It’s about 450,000 to buy the whole set of maps and about 48,000 to buy them one piece. So it may be cheaper to buy it individually. The shop wizard is the best place to get them. You may even ‘snipe’ one, but to snipe one it may take a while. The auctions are another place to find one. You may even find one with a starting price of 4,000! Low isn’t it? Or you may go to the trades and buy them the full set, but you may if your lucky find some underpriced ones for around 30k. You might even get a piece rom a random event even though that is very random. When you have made your decision you have to have your pieces in your inventory and go to Puzzle/Treasure Maps. Then you click on the lab ray, and your mission is complete, you have found the lab ray, you also get 10,000 neopoints from it. Sadly the maps disappear so you can’t ‘resell’ them. They just disappear into nowhere. After you go through the, ‘do you want to use the lab ray’ question you will go to a page where is asking, ‘Now you must choose one of your pets’. You check the little circle and press the button that says, ‘Carry on with the Experiment’.
Another advantage of getting the Lab Ray is you get a spiffy avatar to show off. Or you may luckily get the Lab Ray scientist as a Battle Dome challenger! You might get some cool and rare pet colors you have never dreamed of with the Lab Ray! It can turn your pet Jelly! But be careful, he or she won't come back playing with friends. Or it may turn your neopet into a Sponge neopet. One popular color that is most wanted with the Lab Ray is the MSP Poogle. Beware that you may not get to sleep at night with this neopet around. But it's only available to Poogles. Robot neopets might not come back adventuring in Mystery Island in the rainy season. They do rust, and you know it . Or it may turn your pet into a wonderful fruit, but this is only for Chias. With any luck you may get one of the avatar pets, which is an Island Quiggle and a Grey Pet and more. Some of the time your neopet may get a lot of good stats, but most of the time they have a lot of hit points. Some people say that your pet can turn ice, but this is only available to the Bruce, or on very rare occasions it might be for Boris. But the most exiting thing is that the Lab Ray can turn your neopet into a Draik or a Krawk! Here is a list of ONLY the Lab Ray can turn your neopet into. Robot, Chokato, Snot, Coconut, Garlic, Ice, Alien, Jelly, Sponge, and MSP. Your friends may stand drooling at your pets. They may become jealous of your pet's amazing st ats and colors after a while of zapping.
The disadvantage is the Lab Ray affects the neopet’s stats more. A neopet gets a lot of hit points but it may have no-good stats to back the neopet up in a battle. So if you spent about 8,000 neo points on code stones and it zapped your pet back to level one. Bummer, eh? You just wasted about 8,000 neopoints. Maybe the Lab Ray will turn your new paint job into a bad color you didn't want. The Lab Ray Scientist may give your neopet a little scare. Just watch where you go so you don’t bump into him. Those dizzy eyes and the smiling face. AHH I remember it!!!! It’s very scary. Sadly the Lab Ray won’t affect your petpet in any way.
So, there you have it, the advantages and disadvantages to the Lab Ray. You want to use it or not it is your decision. To me it is worth it. It won’t take long, it’ll probably take about a month of saving if you make 10k a day. Every day you take a risk of turning your neopet into a different species and color, it is very exiting. One day you might be gloomy because the Lab Ray turned your favorite fire Scorchio into a Quiggle.
